The conflict in Ukraine appears to have all the ingredients for cyber war. Moscow and Kyiv are playing for the highest geopolitical stakes, and both countries possess a high level of expertise in information technology and computer hacking. However, there are still many sceptics of cyber war, and more questions than answers. Malicious code has served criminals and spies very well, but can cyber attacks offer soldiers more than a tactical edge on the battlefield? Can they have a strategic effect? And what norms should be established in international relations to govern nation-state hacking in peacetime and in war?

As they describe it, the star hax0r of the movie is left alone with a computer, they pull out a necklace, plug it into the computer, it takes it over and sets up a reverse shell.

Unfortunately it only works on a Mac, ( how is this possible!  just kidding ) but other versions are coming soon

Updated! Wikipedia Sockpuppets lead to Scam on paid Wikipedia entries

Very interesting article on the DailyDot talks about a huge (apparent) network of fake people editing wikipedia entries.  It seems to lead to a paid wikipedia  editing service.

It gets really interesting when they discuss that:

1. It's forbidden to edit wikipedia entries for money, and hugely frowned on to edit your own
2. Wikipedia admins  (may) work at some/most/all of the services
3. The kicker - potential clients get their pages modified or deleted before sales calls
