Apparently Verizon has recognized a market opportunity, where they found that customers want to stream HDTV ( like 720p, 1080p, and 4K ), which is impossible on their capped, limited "unlimited" plan.

Jumping into action, the marketing department has created a new "beyond unlimited" plan and is only charging the bargain rate of $10 per month per line so their customers can get what they really want, HDTV.

The irony seems completely lost on them and the FCC, that the limited "unlimited plan" needs to be opened up to "beyond unlimited".

Update:  Plus, in even more arrogance, after their customers, their providers are paying them too (like Netflix)

Verizon technician sold calling, location data for thousands of dollars

Employee breached customer trust, profited from private phone data for years. 

An Alabama man who worked as a Verizon Wireless technician has agreed to plead guilty to a federal hacking charge in connection to his illegal use of the company's computers to acquire customer calling and location data. The man, Daniel Eugene Traeger, faces a maximum five years in prison next month. He admitted Thursday that he sold customer data—from 2009 to 2014—to a private investigator whom the authorities have not named.

Verizon and the rest of the country's biggest Internet service providers joined forces this month to argue that so-called "common carrier" regulations for utilities shouldn't be applied to broadband. Such rules would force the ISPs to innovate less and spend less money than they do today on network upgrades, they argue.

Yet Verizon obtains a variety of perks from the government for its FiOS Internet service by using public utility rules to its advantage, a new report drawing on public documents says.
This isn’t a new practice and it isn’t illegal, but it could become part of the debate over network neutrality rules and the transition from heavily regulated landline phone networks to Internet-based voice service.
“It's the secret that's been hiding in plain sight,” said Harold Feld, senior VP of consumer advocacy group Public Knowledge and an expert on the FCC and telecommunications. “At the exact moment that these guys are complaining about how awful Title II is, they are trying to enjoy all the privileges of Title II on the regulated side.”
